ANNOUNCEMENTS
New Administration Centre Update:Tim Leitch, Director of Public Works, advised that structural framing is about 50% complete and mass cross laminated timber to start shortly. Monitored security cameras with audible alarms have been installed to detect trespassers.
On-Water Speed Limit between Wasaga Beach/Tiny Township border and Concession 17 West is 10km/hr within 300 meters of the Shoreline and is Enforced by the OPP
Canada Day Celebration at Balm Beach on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 – 11:30 a.m. until approximately 10:15 p.m.
DEPUTATIONS TO COUNCIL
Proposed heritage designation of Labatte House: Kathleen Anderson, Provincial Secretary for Economic Development and Government Infrastructure, Métis Nation of Ontario; and Zac Thiffault, Associate and Lawyer, Aird & Berlis LLP stressed the importance of the house to the Metis community and outlined some of the history. It was agreed to remove the building from the list and to arrange an in-camera meeting to discuss the details with the Métis Nation representatives.
NOTICE OF MOTION
Councillor Brunelle brought forward a notice of motion requesting that the election sign by-law be amended to reflect a new date for posting of signs to August 1st.

SWOOPFiber-Free Public WiFi Proposal: Swoopfibre has offered to install free WiFi at Jackson’s Park, Balm Beach and Wyevale Park. Council approved.
Public Works Complex Roof Replacement (Conc 9): Council approved awarding the project to Sinclair Industrial Roofing for $122,362 + HST.
Georgian Bay Estates Well Replacement: Council approved awarding the tender to Highland Water Well Drilling for $125,500 + HST for the replacement of two wells at Pumphouse #19.
Tiny Beaches Road North at Conc 13 Culvert Replacement: Due to an unforeseen flooding event, funding will be taken from the Withall Dam project to carry out remedial action. Funds will be added to the 2027 Capital Budget for the full replacement of the culvert.
Simcoe County Food Council: Council agreedto permit monthly use of a Township community centre as a packing space for the North Simcoe Good Food Box program, with facility rental and insurance fees being waived, subject to availability and scheduling.
Canada Day Event Planning: Director Pallas gave a detailed presentation of the operational plans for parking, road closures, and shuttle services in support of the Canada Day event designed to ensure public safety, efficient traffic flow, and a positive visitor experience. Details will be posted closer to the event.
Special Events and Economic Development Strategy: Council approved awarding the project that will guide future event planning, attraction, and sustainability while enhancing economic impact and community engagement to Extra Cardamom Consulting for the cost of $46,173.28 plus HST.
COMMITTEES:
The Township of Tiny Events and Charities Committee; Charity Selections: Council approved awarding proceeds as follows: • Angels with Backpacks • BGC North Simcoe • Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe • CLH Foundation • We are the Villagers • Midland Public Library • Gateway for learning • Sistema Huronia Music Academy • Georgian Bay Food Network • Quest Art School + Gallery • Elmvale Community Church. Funds will be allocated to each selected charity based on their requested amounts and in accordance with any surplus or deficit from the overall fundraising goal.
Council also approved that Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe run the 50/50 draw at both Golf and Pickleball Tournaments and receive 50% of the proceeds raised from the draws.
