Native Plant Sources
By Janet Skelton
Before heading off to buy native plants, you might consult two good sources of information on Ontario native plants. The most specific to Georgian Bay is the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation. The web address is http://lakehuron.ca and search for “native plants” where you’ll find “Importance of Native Plants”.
A more general but very useful resource is the
Humber Arboretum —

Some nurseries that specialize in native plants are:
The Wildflower Farm,

It’s on Highway 12 just south of Moonstone Road.
