ROUNDABOUT THE ASSOCIATIONS
BLUEWATER DUNES RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION – held their General
Meeting on Sunday, May 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
BLUEWATER GEORGINA WENDAKE BEACHES ASSOCIATION – is having their
Annual Meeting at 10:00 a.m. on July 4th at the Bayshore Seniors Hall.
CEDAR POINT COTTAGERS ASSOCIATION – executive met May 16th
to arrange for their Annual Meeting in July.
COUTNAC BEACH ASSOCIATION – will have their Annual Meeting on July 1st.
DEANLEA BEACH ASSOCIATION – held their Annual Meeting on
Saturday, May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Wyevale United Church Hall.
Their attorney, Gary E. French was guest speaker.
14th CONCESSION ASSOCIATION – is planning their Association Party for
the Civic Holiday Weekend.
GEORGIAN HIGHLANDS BEACH ASSOCIATION – will hold their General Meeting
at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23rd at the cottage of co-chair David
Walker.
KETTLE’S BEACH ASSOCIATION – will be holding their Annual Community
Party and Supper this summer.
KINGSWOOD ACRES BEACH ASSOCIATION – held their Annual
General Meeting on Sunday, May 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Call Al Taylor at

OSSOSANE BEACH ASSOCIATION – will be celebrating Canada Day (July 1st)
with their 3rd Annual Party to include fireworks, bonfire, hot dogs
and a dance.
PENNORTH BEACH ASSOCIATION – held a meeting Sunday, May
23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the cottage of Scot & Charlene Lowes.
PINE FOREST BEACH ESTATES ASSOCIATION – has their Annual Meeting
planned for Sunday, August 1st.
ROWNTREE BEACH ASSOCIATION – is planning their Annual Picnic and
Barbeque in July.
WAHNEKEWENING BEACH ASSOCIATION – convened their General
Meeting Sunday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the cottage of Mark &
Cathy Vanderheyden. They laid plans for their Beach Day to be held on Civic Holiday Weekend.
WOODLAND BEACH PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION – held a special meeting
9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 1993 to discuss the Recreation Master
Plan. Regular meetings are also planned for July 3rd, July 31st,
Sept 4th. Each of these meetings will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the
Bayshore Seniors Hall.
WYMBOLWOOD BEACH ASSOCIATION – is again running its successful Summer Youth Program. Planned special events for beach community families include: Regatta & Field Day; Corn Roast on the beach; and the Annual Meeting in September.
ITEMS OF GENERAL CONCERN:
Concerns were raised by several associations: 1) many cottages are
for sale in some areas because of the recession; 2) more could go up
for sale when Tiny taxes increase as a result of Restructuring; 3)
the Recreation Master Plan’s proposed developments (see article)
could lead to damage of the fragile beach environment, the bulldozing
of sand dunes, and depress cottage property values.
