New Year’s Gathering
By Doreen Cheeseman
Thursday, December 28th, 1994, at 2:00 p.m. saw many faces gathered at Capt. Roberts’ Table, Penetanguishene, to toast in the New Year and to meet new neighbours. The occasion was the Federation’s open house. The setting was perfect for the festive season.
Brightly decorated boughs with red ribbon touched by the sun, glowed indoors while the landscape of the Bay, with ice sailboats skimming across the ice and children ice-skating, was all reminiscent of an artist’s canvas and created a scene of warmth and laughter.
The members of Tiny Township Council moved throughout the crowd wishing us a Happy New Year; the clinking wine glasses projected a mood of gaiety and neighbourly respect.
The Federation held a dance last July and the Open House at Christmas. If you wish to be part of these events, for example a corn roast, a family Fair or whatever activities you would be interested in, we would like to hear from you. Please call 416-783-2480 or 705-533-2009.
