The Eighth Annual "Tiny Cottager" Challenge,
this time for the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation, Physician Recruitment AND the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
Amount raised in summer 2010: $20,197

As you know, FoTTSA has been encouraging fundraising in support of the Emergency Department at the Huronia District Hospital for a number of years, partly because we need the service and seasonal residents are not counted in the provincial funding formula and partly as an exercise in community building with our inland neighbours.

This year, the focus of our fundraising was three-fold -- the Emergency Department at the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Physician Recruitment, and the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. We urged all of you to report on your fundraising successes to president@tinycottager.org

Crests have been awarded to the Challenge Cup acknowledging Addison Beach for raising the largest average amount per household for a small association (under 50 members), Wymbolwood Beach for raising the largest average amount per household for a large association (50+) and Nottawaga beach for the largest amount of any association.

To date (2003-2010) shore area associations in Tiny Township have raised $149,869.12 for the Emergency Department of the Georgian Bay General Hospital through the annual “Challenge Cup” competition.
